How much does it cost?
All prices are proposed until launch; no payment today. The free plan costs nothing. Premium is $59.99 a month or $599.99 a year; the price reflects realtime conversation in a premium tutor voice — 200 live minutes every month. Family is $24.99 a month or $179.99 a year (Regional price: Gulf & Arab world — $16.99 a month) and becomes available when child accounts open.
Is the tutor a human or an AI?
An AI, deliberately: it enables flexible practice and immediate correction without embarrassment. Session data is processed to provide these features under the Privacy Policy.
What happens to my child's voice recordings?
We do not store your child's voice by default. Live voice is not available to under-18s while safety checks are being completed. Parental consent, withdrawing it and deleting data are explained in the Children's Privacy Policy.
Do I need to know English before I start?
No. You can start as a complete beginner. The placement test helps you find a suitable starting point.
Will it understand my Arabic accent in English?
Talkallam is designed for Arabic speakers, with Arabic explanations for common difficulties. Speech recognition can still be affected by audio quality and pronunciation.
How much time do I need each day?
Choose a session from five to thirty minutes based on your schedule. Start with a duration you can sustain, then increase it when useful; we do not prescribe a daily duration or promise a guaranteed learning outcome.
Does it work on a weak connection?
A weak connection can interrupt a conversation. Session recovery is still being tested; no recovery time is guaranteed yet.
Will it help with IELTS or TOEFL?
Speaking practice for IELTS and TOEFL preparation is planned, with details to be announced before launch. This does not promise a full exam simulation or an official score. Premium is not available for purchase today.
Is it built for children and adults alike?
It is designed for all three age groups, in stages: the adult experience is the current launch path, and live voice for children and teenagers is disabled before launch. Their experiences open with child accounts, once parental consent is approved and the safety requirements are met.
When will the app be available?
We have not announced a fixed date for iOS or Android. This page will show the launch status as soon as a date is approved.
